Another great RocketTheme Joomla Template brought to you by the RocketTheme Joomla Template Club.
Tim Simpson PDF

Hi, I'm Tim.

tim simpsonCanoe The Thames has been my idea, it's all my fault but also my infinite pride to be the instigator of this event.

In truth I've been harping on about organising a charity canoeing event for a while now but this year it is truly going to happen.

Some of you who have made it to this site will already know me so the next couple of paragraphs are going to be pretty dull, but there may be the odd visitor to the site who doesn't, so I'll briefly fill you in.

Now living in Brighton, I'm a multi-disciplined designer with an eye for a creative project. As director of Plunge Productions I'm involved in design projects ranging from promotional props; theatrical sets, props and costume; illustration and graphic design.

In between the real work I try to make time for a number of other fun projects and a few years ago headed the team that won the London Red Bull Flugtag with our flying machine The Miss Piggy and our team of intrepid Muppets.

This year it's not flying machines but floating ones that have grabbed my attention and I can't wait to hit the water with you all.

Those of you I don't already know who are joining us, I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Tim

Please look below for details of my chosen charity.

canoe in india

I've chosen two charities to support this year

The international Childcare Trust - www.ict-uk.org

For the ITC you can donate online at www.mycharitypage.com/TimSimpson

 and..

The ISA Children's Home in Tamil Nadu in Southern India.

For which you can donate by sending me a cheque which I will then cash and wire to them via Westrern Union.

The ISA Children's Home is a small orphanage set up in 2002 in order to give a home to orphaned street children abandoned in the streets of towns and cities in the area.

ISA childrens home It was founded when Edwin Isaac, at the age of 15, found a young child on the street being assaulted by two adults. He broke up the fight, took the child to hospital and then tried to help him get home. The young child explained that he lived on the street and had no parents. Edwin took the child back to his family home and resolved to start an orphanage to look after children in similar situations. Remarkably his parents agreed and they started to turn the family home into a small orphanage. When i last met Edwin his family were looking after 13 children, keeping them fed, healthy, safe and also getting them through school.

It is entirely dependent on public donations as it is not supported by local government despite being officially recognised as an orphanage. (Reg No 270/2002 with the Tamil Nadu Governemnt)

I understand from a website in Germany that they are planning to rent a larger property. To read more yourself click here and then scroll down to the article entitled 'Social Migration 2006' The page has been automatically translated from German so is a bit odd but you'll get the Idea.

So please support my attempt to canoe the length of the Thames, it's in a very worthy cause. If you'd like to support me then please drop me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
