It's our longest day thus far but there are plenty of places to stop on route, should we need to. There will be increasing amounts of traffic on the river from here on so we need to look out for one another.

Whitchurch Toll Bridge - J 1902. A wooden bridge was built here in about 1792. The present latticed iron bridge designed by Joseph Morris was built by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company Ltd in 1902.

Mapledurham Lock

Mapledurham House is to our left. We'll stop here for a chance to visit the last working watermill on the Thames, we could also have a cream tea and those that want to can also visit the house. Then lunch by the lock.

Reading rowing club is 150 yards above Caversham bridge on the right.  Landing and public car park.
